Joel Barnett

(He/Him) | Founder & CEO

Prior to launching Fortune Hill in 2008, Joel was Talent Director at Homeserve plc where, during his time with the business, market capitalisation increased from c£300m to over £1.5bn (sold to Private Equity for $5bn in 2023). He was previously Director of Executive Recruitment for the Caudwell Group of Companies, one of the fastest growing private businesses in the UK (sold to Private Equity for £2bn in 2005).

Joel has successfully executed assignments, both Executive and Non-Executive, on behalf of an array of organisations from some of the world’s most recognisable brands to early stage ventures.

Joel is passionate about raising money for charity and has completed bicycle rides from Rio de Janeiro to Sao Paulo, London to Paris and across southern India. He plays football and is a lifelong season ticket holder at Arsenal FC.

Tatijana Vujicic | Fortune Hill

Tatijana Vujicic

(She/Her) | Research Analyst, Barcelona

She supports the research team during delivery of assignments through the provision of knowledge management. She joined Fortune Hill after a research placement investigating the pharmacological effects of medicinal plant species in the Caribbean.

Tatijana holds an MSc in Clinical Neuroscience from University College London and speaks fluent Spanish, having grown up between Barcelona and Toronto.

Outside of work, Tatijana enjoys volunteering with charities, travelling, and creating hand-made jewelry pieces.

James Scholfield

(He/Him) | Associate Director

James is an Associate Director at Fortune Hill, with significant experience of delivering marketing and commercial leadership assignments across the globe. He first joined FH in 2015, rejoining the team 10 years later.

Alongside his passion for executive search and commercial and marketing topics, James is an accredited mindfulness meditation teacher through the Breathworks organisation, with expertise in mindfulness-based interventions and meditations working with organisations such as Holland & Barrett and Petit BamBou. He has travelled extensively and lived abroad in countries including the Netherlands, Indonesia, and Mexico.

Annabel Matthews | Fortune Hill

Annabel Matthews

(She/Her) | Associate Director

She joined Fortune Hill in 2019  and has led the delivery of many highly successful leadership appointments across multiple industries and geographies.

Annabel holds a degree in BSc Psychology from The University of Reading. Her degree included a one-year placement as a Social Psychology Research Assistant which saw her project manage and conduct two studies: “Evoking the nature of disgust” and “The influence of a prosocial mindset on attention to others in need”.

Outside of work, as well as following all thing’s Social Psychology related, Annabel is an avid traveller, surfer, and skier. She summited Mont Blanc in 2017 and ran the 2022 London Marathon.

John Hunter | Fortune Hill

John Hunter

(He/Him) | Director

He specialises in supporting CMOs to build exceptional teams, and partnering with Boards to appoint Marketing Leaders who drive growth.

Before joining Fortune Hill in 2017, John worked for an international Executive Search consultancy focussing on senior mandates across consumer-facing industries for European, Asian, and US clients. He started his career within the HR team of a premium British fashion brand.

John holds a First Class BA (Hons) in Business Management from the University of Winchester. He is fascinated by consumer psychology and finds bad marketing truly offensive.

Outside of work, John is an avid sports fan having played Rugby and Basketball at University. He enjoys reading, film and is happiest when at sea.

Sophie Doherty

Sophie has significant experience of connecting consumer brands with marketing talent across the UK and Europe. She is known for and trusted by global and high-growth businesses.

Originally from Ireland and fluent in French, Sophie brings an international lens to her work, enabling her to navigate cross-market searches with cultural and commercial insight. With a consultative approach, she focusses on delivering impactful hires and building long-term partnerships, based on aligning talent strategies with business goals.

She holds a Bachelor of Commerce International from University College Dublin, including a year at Toulouse Business School. Outside of work, Sophie enjoys Pilates and is a trained pianist.

Daniel Krendel

Daniel is a Director at Fortune Hill, with significant experience of leading performance and data-led marketing leadership searches for consumer-facing organisations. He has successfully delivered hundreds of mandates for clients, becoming an important partner for investors, and CMOs  looking to build world-class teams.

Before joining Fortune Hill in 2015, Daniel led marketing recruitment for Robert Walters. He started his career in marketing with leading agencies advising top brands including Emirates Airline and Samsung.

Outside of work, Daniel is an enthusiastic (but distinctly average!) tennis player, and loves to keep fit. The latter helps him when running after his two young children.

Aaron Yousuf | Executive Search Consultant | Fortune Hill

Aaron Yousuf

(He/Him) | Associate Director, Germany

Based in Berlin, Aaron oversees the DACH region. Prior to joining Fortune Hill, he led Executive Hiring at Wayfair in Europe & Asia, where he established and directed the Executive Recruitment function during a period of remarkable growth, achieving a 30x increase in scale. Before his time at Wayfair, Aaron served as a Research Analyst at Egon Zehnder, working out of the Madrid and Berlin offices within the Technology, Consumer, and Communications practice.

He holds a BS in Business Administration and Management from Freie Universität Berlin.

Outside of work, Aaron is passionate about sports and enjoys playing tennis and football.

Sonia plays a key role in driving efficiency, structure, and service excellence across Fortune Hill. With over 10 years’ experience spanning business operations she is known for meticulous attention to detail, delivering seamless processes, managing complex stakeholder needs, and supporting high-performing teams.

Her career has included overseeing multi-business function operations, launching education programs across several countries, and leading an award-winning support services function at a major insurer. Sonia brings a calm, strategic presenceto fast-paced environments and is passionate about creating people-first, performance-driven cultures.

Outside of work, Sonia enjoys travelling, attending plays and musicals, and spending time with her dogs.

Nicola Creighton | Executive Search Consultant | Fortune Hill

Nicola Creighton

(She/Her) | Associate Director, Operations

She oversees Project Management, Finance, Technology, and Events as well as being focused on leading FH’s continuous improvement initiatives.

Nicola started her career in Executive Search at the leading international legal consultants, Fox Rodney, joining as the Office Administrator and working her way up to the role of Director of Operations. During more than 6 years at Fox Rodney, Nicola was responsible for multiple office moves, international office openings and a firm-wide rebrand. She then worked with two former Fox Rodney partners to project manage the entire set-up of a boutique legal Executive Search firm, Fort Stratford Partners.

Outside of work, Nicola is passionate about trying as many of London’s new restaurant and bar openings as she can, as well as planning her next trip abroad.

Kobi Lehrer

Balancing challenge and empathy, Kobi creates a safe space for clients to make sustained and purposeful change. He helps clients define their vision for future success and takes them beyond the surface to explore enablers and blockers, empowering them to successfully navigate their current reality and take practical steps towards their vision. Kobi works at a transformational level with clients to support them to be inspiring leaders who deliver results. Adopting a strengths-based approach and drawing on emotional intelligence principles, he supports and challenges clients to move beyond self-imposed limits to achieve their goals.

A professional coach since 2020, Kobi coaches people of all backgrounds with varying personal or professional goals. As an executive coach, he helps leaders across a variety of sectors. His unique combination of experience gained as a solicitor in leading multinational law firms, and 10 years of successful early stage build and exits, Kobi is familiar with a range of systems and tools to support professionals to overcome the visible and invisible barriers to fulfil their leadership potential.

Alison enjoys a variety of Board Advisory roles (as Consultant, Non-executive Director and Executive Coach), and as a former Senior Marketing Executive and CMO has a proven track record in delivering outcomes and growth.

As an advisor she is a broad thinker who tackles challenges holistically, with a customer-centric angle. She helps organisations explore new ways to organise, new ways of working, and deploy agile methods to manage teams for impact over process, and deliver transformational change. She firmly believes the biggest opportunities for impact lie in better navigating the intersections and gaps in organisations and their ecosystems of partners and agencies.

As an executive coach Alison helps leaders and teams be at their best, and maximise their impact and potential. With her warm and empathetic style she supports coachees to explore challenges, opportunities, and their impact on the systems in which they operate.

Alison is a NED for The Marketing Society, and a Trustee for AbilityNet, a charity focused on transformative power of technology to empower disabled people to reach their full potential in education, the workplace, and their daily lives. She is also a Fellow of both The Marketing Society and The Marketing Academy.

Alison spent much of her first career at IBM where she held a variety of roles, including Global VP Performance Marketing and most recently CMO for EMEA. She led large international teams responsible for marketing strategy and delivery of IBM’s brand, reputation, and demand generation, and worked across digital disciplines, using technology and analytics to improve operations in service of the customer experience.
