The Fortune Hill team is committed to raising money for our two dedicated charities, Centrepoint and Action Bladder Cancer UK, through a series of fun and physical events.
Centrepoint is the UK's leading charity for homeless young people. It supports over 9,000 16-25 year olds into housing and employment every year. Working directly in London and the north of England, Centrepoint's work covers all of the UK through a network of 40 partner organisations. Bladder cancer is not a rare cancer – it is the 4th most common in men, and the 7th most common in the UK overall. Over 10,300 people are diagnosed each year, around half of those will die. Despite this, there is very limited public awareness of the disease and it is a low priority on the public health agenda. Treatments have changed very little over the past 30 years and research is seriously underfunded. Bladder cancer has been called a 'Cinderella' cancer. ABC UK is dedicated to changing this and to giving bladder patients a voice. If you would like to support our fundraising efforts for Action Bladder Cancer, please click here.
Last year, we achieved our fundraising target of £10,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust. The team participated in a range of events including a Tough Mudder, a table tennis tournament, our first-ever Fortune Hill Sports Day and a pub quiz, to support the work of Teenage Cancer Trust. Thank you to all who supported our fundraising efforts in aid of this incredible charity.
